This thread is very similar to the B96 Traffic Jam/Lunch Party thread I made a while back.
Hot Mix Productions (also known as Hot Mix Radio Network) was a syndicated mix show program that began in Arizona in 1986 by Dave Rajput & Andrew Starr. On a weekly basis, Hot Mix presented a 4-hour block of music with two 25-min mixes per hour. More often than not, these mixes would contain both official remixes of songs and re-edits done by various remix service labels. One such label was Powerhouse, which was founded by both Starr and famed Hot Mix 5 member Mickey Mixin' Oliver in 1990, and it later spun off a sublabel "Hitmix", which was run by B96 mixer and on-air jock Brian Middleton.
By the end of the 1980s, they started adding more stations nationwide, and in 1990, Hot Mix partnered with ABC Radio Network, and their radio syndicates further expanded. Other notable DJs and producers during Hot Mix's time period include C.L. McSpadden and Markus Schulz. In addition to the mainstream dance/top 40 format, Hot Mix would expand to other styles in the mid-1990s, such as Retromix (70s/80s disco and pop), Crossover (hip hop & R&B), Modern AC (adult Top 40), Resurrection (80s New Wave/Alternative), and even country.
B96 started airing these Hot Mixes sometime in the middle of 1990 as part of the "Sunday Night Mix" hosted by Middleton between 8 pm and midnight. The "Sunday Night Mix" continued until around 1993, when B96 introduced the weekday mix hours "12 pm Lunch Party", "5 pm Traffic Jam" and "10 O'clock Remix" and moved the Hot Mixes to those hours to make room for their new sex & relationship talk show "Private Lives," which began airing Sundays at 10 pm. The Hot Mixes mixed by Rajput mainly aired on the 12pm hour though they also aired on the 10pm hour at times. Also, the main difference between the Lunch Party and Traffic Jam mixes was that the Traffic Jam mixes were a continuous 50+ min mix as opposed to the 2 25+ mixes the Hot Mixes were. Furthermore, B96 on-air jocks never revealed who did the Traffic Jam mixes once they concluded, though it was McSpadden who was doing the mixes (at least the ones from the latter half of the 1990s).
The mixes featured in the 10 O'Clock Remix were originally similar to the Hot Mixes presented at the 12pm and 5pm hours and were mainly done by Middleton as he moved from Sunday nights to the weekday mid-afternoon slot, originally as a part-time jock (though he would become a full-time jock in late 1995). By July 1994 (possibily earlier in the year), the Hot Mix-style mixes were replaced by mixes done by the regular B96 mixers, such as Bad Boy Bill or Bobby D, and were much like what was heard on the weekend Street Mix shows instead of the Top 40/dance pop typically heard in the Hot Mixes. As Hot Mix Productions introduced more styles to its mixes, It is unknown if B96 switched from the "Hot Mix Mainstream" dance-pop mixes to the "Crossover" dance/hip-hop/R&B mixes from 1996 onward, as they were a "Rhythmic/Crossover Top 40" station in those days. It is possible that the station used mixes from both the Mainstream and Crossover sets. From 1996 to 1997, B96 expanded the 12pm Lunch Party into a four hour block called the "At Work Dance Party" from 11am to 2pm and aired the 70s/80s-based Retromixes during the 1st hour, and the other 3 hours were reserved mainly for then-current dance/pop or hip hop/R&B mixes in the Hot Mix format. By 1998, the station reverted to just a single hour at noon and dropped the other hour mixes, including the Retromixes.
Mixes provided by Hot Mix Productions continued to air on B96 until around 2001, when JamTraxx Media took over, and that lasted until 2006, when B96 decided to go more local with DJ Flipside handling the 5pm mixes, which lasted up to 2020.

Below are the many tracks that appeared on the Hot Mixes that aired during the early half of the 1990s (more specifically the 1990 to 1995 track sheets as the split into "Mainstream" and "Crossover" series from 1996 complicates things) based on the available track sheets. While the mixes largely focused on then-contemporary pop and dance hits, they did often include flashbacks from the 1980s and even the disco hits from the late 1970s. As B96 was airing these Hot Mixes throughout much of the 1990s, this meant that most, if not all, of these tracks listed below were likely played on the station during this time. Also, note that some tracks listed were played only one or two times while other tracks were played quite frequently as a a flashback featured in these mixes.

As Hot Mix immediately launched nationwide at the beginning of 1990, many of the late 1980s songs, more specifically the ones from 1989 and, to a degree, 1988, were still fairly new and during the early 1990s weren't labeled "Flashbacks" on the track sheets like with most of the tracks from the late 70s to mid-80s that were featured in the Hot Mixes during this time.

This was the first year of Hot Mix Radio Network's partnership with ABC Radio Network as the syndicated mixes became further available nationwide. B96 began airing these mixes as early as the summer months of 1990 as part of the 4-hour weekend mix hour block known as "Sunday Night Mix" hosted by Brian Middleton. It's likely that the station started airing them earlier in the year, but the spring 1990 issue of Chicago Radio Magazine is unavailable. As a result, it is a possibility that B96 never played some of the early half of 1990 tracks. For some tracks, there is a date that labels which issue the track debuts on the week's Hot Mix.
Songs in BOLD were tracks that B96 was playing in power rotation at various points of the year, either through available track sheets or airchecks.
Songs in ITALICS are tracks that were featured in the weekend B96 Dance Party/Street Mixes.

B96 continued airing the syndicated Hot Mixes as part of the Sunday Night Mix program as the year began. However, it is currently unknown if the Sunday Night Mix continued on as the year concluded, as a major shake-up would occur the following year. Regardless, B96 most likely still aired the Hot Mixes in some form. There was a Hot Mix 1992 Demo Sampler mix that featured an opening montage of various radio stations airing the Hot Mixes and B96 was one of the stations featured in the montage.
Songs in BOLD were tracks that B96 was playing in power rotation at various points of the year, either through available track sheets or airchecks.
Songs in ITALICS are tracks that were featured in the weekend B96 Dance Party/Street Mixes.

In early 1993, B96 overhauled their Sunday night lineup and replaced the Sunday Night Mix with a local talk show called "Private Lives" hosted by news anchor Karen Hand and psychologist Dr. Kelly Johnson. As a result, the station introduced new mix show hours throughout the weekday, such as the 12pm "Lunch Party", the 5pm "Traffic Jam", and the "10 O'Clock Remix" hour. It is not exactly known when B96 made this change, as it is possible the change occurred sometime a year earlier.
The syndicated Hot Mixes aired in some form during these hours, though it is not exactly known how B96 aired these mixes. As the Hot Mixes were a 4-hour block, it seemed logical that B96 would air these mixes one hour a piece during the 10 O'Clock remix hours that aired Monday to Thursday, as Friday nights were reserved for the local, newly-renamed B96 Street Mix (formerly known as the B96 Dance Party from rougly March 1989 to around February 1993). Also, the Lunch Party and Traffic Jam mix hours each aired five times a week (one hour apiece Monday to Friday).
Songs in BOLD were tracks that B96 was playing in power rotation at various points of the year, either through available track sheets or airchecks.
Songs in ITALICS are tracks that were featured in the weekend B96 Dance Party/Street Mixes.
Songs with a "*" indicate a track that was played on a Hot Mix that had aired on B96 based on the available mixes or airchecks.

B96 was still airing the Hot Mixes in 1994. However, things get more complicated as by the middle of the year, the 10 O'Clock Remix was now revamped and was airing two mixes from the regular B96 mixers that typically aired during the weekend instead of the syndicated Hot Mixes. This meant that the Hot Mixes were airing in some form only during the Lunch Party and Traffic Jam hours.
Songs in BOLD were tracks that B96 was playing in power rotation at various points of the year, either through available track sheets or airchecks.
Songs in ITALICS are tracks that were featured in the weekend B96 Dance Party/Street Mixes.
Songs with a "*" indicate a track that was played on a Hot Mix that had aired on B96 based on the available mixes or airchecks.
Songs with a "+" indicates a track that may had been played on B96's power rotation during the year.

B96 was still airing the Hot Mixes in some form in 1995. Hot Mix introduced another spinoff mix series called Modern-AC, which focused more on Adult Top 40 or alternative rock-based hits. It is very unlikely that B96 aired any of the Modern-AC mixes due to being a different format.
Songs in BOLD were tracks that B96 was playing in power rotation at various points of the year, either through available track sheets or airchecks.
Songs in ITALICS are tracks that were featured in the weekend B96 Dance Party/Street Mixes.

Things get even more complicated not only by how B96 aired the Hot Mixes during their schedule but also when Hot Mixes program itself would expand by introducing another spinoff series of mixes: Crossover.
B96 began to expand its weekday Lunch Party hour by introducing the "At Work Dance Party", airing mixes for four hours during the midday hours from 10am to 2pm. It is unknown exactly when the expansion occurred, but it occurred as early as May of that year. The 1st hour was usually reserved for "Retromix", a Hot Mix spinoff series originally debuting in 1993 that featured 70s/80s disco and dance-pop mixes. These were only one-hour (two 25-min mixes) sets, and it is unknown if B96 aired the Retromixes when they originally came out. The remaining three hours of the "At Work Dance Party" consisted of then-contemporary dance, pop, and R&B mixes done in the style of the Hot Mixes. Occasionally, mixes done by the regular B96 mixers that aired on the weekend would also air during this mix block, While the weekday mix show expanded, the 5pm Traffic Jam mixes remained only one hour.
The Hot Mixes would also experience major changes as the mainline series would split into two series of mixes: "Mainstream" and "Crossover". The existing Hot Mix mixes would be rebranded as "Hot Mix Mainstream" whereas the "Crossover" mixes focused more on Rhythmic Top 40 remixes, ranging from dance hits to urban-based hits. As B96 was considered a "Rhythmic Top 40" station during this time, it is unknown if B96 aired the Mainstream mixes or the Crossover mixes. It is also possible B96 was airing mixes from both the Mainstream and Crossover Hot Mix collection depending on how many tracks featured in the mix better reflected B96's main playlist of songs as not every track featured in the Hot Mixes was regulary played on the station.

Things get even more complicated not only by how B96 aired the Hot Mixes during their schedule but also when Hot Mixes program itself would expand by introducing another spinoff series of mixes: Crossover.
B96 began to expand its weekday Lunch Party hour by introducing the "At Work Dance Party", airing mixes for four hours during the midday hours from 10am to 2pm. It is unknown exactly when the expansion occurred, but it occurred as early as May of that year. The 1st hour was usually reserved for "Retromix", a Hot Mix spinoff series originally debuting in 1993 that featured 70s/80s disco and dance-pop mixes. These were only one-hour (two 25-min mixes) sets, and it is unknown if B96 aired the Retromixes when they originally came out. The remaining three hours of the "At Work Dance Party" consisted of then-contemporary dance, pop, and R&B mixes done in the style of the Hot Mixes. Occasionally, mixes done by the regular B96 mixers that aired on the weekend would also air during this mix block, While the weekday mix show expanded, the 5pm Traffic Jam mixes remained only one hour.
The Hot Mixes would also experience major changes as the mainline series would split into two series of mixes: "Mainstream" and "Crossover". The existing Hot Mix mixes would be rebranded as "Hot Mix Mainstream" whereas the "Crossover" mixes focused more on Rhythmic Top 40 remixes, ranging from dance hits to urban-based hits. While the Mainstream and Crossover mixes had a large overlap of the same tracks featured in the mixes, the Mainstream mixes included more remixes of pop-rock and alternative-based tracks to further differentiate from the Crossover mixes.
