While I haven't seen an official announcement just yet, the past few weekends did not air B96 Street Mix shows. The B96 Street Mix Facebook page has been taken down and any mention of the B96 Street Mix is wiped from B96.com. This would truly be sad news and an end to an incredible era of mixing.

In August of 2020, the B96 Street Mix was unceremoniously cancelled and replaced with jockless programming known as the “After Hours”. As a result, B96 no longer featured mixes of any kind since 1986. Three of B96’s mixers, DJ Metro, DJ Nonstop, and DJ Flipside would continue to mix at sister station WBMX 104.3 Jams.

This is truly the end of an era. I grew up listening to the days of Marski, Tim Schommer, Bobby D and others. Even today, Miss DJ Meg was one of my main influences for what I DJ nowadays, which got me into packed ballrooms, and we ended up meeting and she follows me on Instagram while telling me that she saw what I was doing. Her mouth dropped when I showed her pics of the crowds I was playing for as I thanked her for everything. I hope Meg and Spin find another station to play.

Thanks for everything, Mixmasters.

Also, thank you so much for posting the Street Mixes as long as you have. I picked up a lot of inspiration from having those ready to listen to whenever I wanted.
